Boreal forests ( also known as taiga ) occur in the northern hemisphere of our planet. You can find them in North America, North Asia and North Europe. The climate is harsh for most part of the year. The prevailing flora is composed of conifers and shrubs that grows deep in the continent or near one of the many river networks.
